Built in 1792, an historic vacation treat. -
The Barn Loft and the 1800 House are located off-the-water on Crowell Road about 1-1/2 miles from our main group of houses. They are both on the same property in a residential area about 1-1/2 miles from the center of Chatham. These off-the-water accommodations are air conditioned.
The 1800 House is located off the water on Crowell Road. There is plenty of lawn and parking to the left of the house. The original front section of this two story house was built in 1792 and is an excellent example of Greek Revival architecture. The original charming staircase goes to the second floor. The rooms have natural-finished wood flooring original to the house. The home has a large country kitchen, a dining room with a fireplace and a living room with a wood stove. There is a large 18 x 19 foot brick porch with comfortable porch and dining furniture, and a high tray ceiling with ceiling fan. Five 6 foot sliding doors bring the outside inside. A wood deck off the patio provides a large hot tub, gas grill, furniture, and a SAND BOX area for the kids! There are three bedrooms sleeping five people and a sleeping alcove for one more. The home has: 1 queen bed, 1 double bed, 2 twin beds, a queen pullout couch in the living room, and you can have a cot/crib for an extra little one. Two of the bedrooms are downstairs, and, there are two modern bathrooms. A comfortable relic that you will relish!
You are welcome, of course, to come to our Old Harbor Road property as often as you like and enjoy the water, the sand, and bring your pet along too.
Chatham does have a leash law, and dogs need to be on a leash when on our properties.
