Information |
Deposits: Due 10 days from date of booking.
Payment Policies: Advance Rent Payment is equal to one half of the Base Rent amount plus Peace of Mind (if you choose it) and Travel Insurance (if you choose it).
Final Payment is equal to the remaining Base Rent amount, plus Processing Fee, Taxes and Security Deposit (if you decline Peace of Mind). (A 7% North Carolina Sales Tax and a 5% County Occupancy Tax are required on all rentals. Taxes are subject to change.)
We accept personal checks and money orders (US funds only), MasterCard and Visa. If you are making a reservation less than 45 days in advance, we require payment by credit card. Visa and MasterCard are accepted with NO additional "convenience" fees. WE CANNOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS WITHIN 30 DAYS OF YOUR ARRIVAL DATE. Canadian reservations must be made in U.S. funds by money order or cashiers check payable by a U.S. Bank. Any check returned for "Non-Sufficient Funds" will not be resubmitted. You will be notified and your payment by cashier's check, certified check or money order will be accepted within 2 days of notification. All returned checks incur a $25.00 handling fee. All advance rent monies will be deposited in an interest bearing trust account with East Carolina Bank located in Avon, NC with interest accrued to Surf or Sound Realty.
Cancellations: If you should have to cancel your reservation for any reason, please contact our office immediately. We will make every effort to re-rent the home.If we are able to re-rent the home, all monies (less the $70.00 processing fee and a $50.00 "fuss and feather" fee) will be returned only if and when final payment is received for the new reservation. In the event that we are unable to re-rent the property, the full rental amount, including taxes and all applicable fees, is due and payable.
Arrival/Departure: Check-in is between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm on Saturday and between 4:00 pm and 5:30 pm on Sunday – if your cottage is ready. We ask that you not purchase perishable groceries prior to picking up your key. We do not provide refrigeration facilities. If you plan on arriving before check-in please plan to visit the many local attractions on the Outer Banks.
If you arrive after office hours, the keys and directions to your cottage will be left in an envelope in the key drop box located at our front door. Linens rented prior to arrival will be left in the home. Please check-in with our office the following day to let us know you arrived.
ALL GUESTS MUST CHECK OUT BY 10:00 A.M. If you check out before our office opens, please leave the keys in our drop box.
